Last year, some of you might remember that I produced an illustrated calendar of local businesses with £1 from each calendar sold going to Padiham Parish Food Bank? 

This year, I’ll be producing another calendar but this time it will be of 12 churches involved with Christians Against Poverty, Burnley (CAP) and again £1 from each one sold will be donated but this year the charity will be the Burnley CAP. 

I’m now doing some of the prep work taking my reference photos of the churches and making thumbnail sketches to then turn into ink & watercolour illustrations. Below is a couple of the photos already taken and some behind the scenes of my process. (Image descriptions for each is in the alt text.)

I’ve set up in my journal a checklist of the steps for each part of the process, starting with taking the photos & editing them, the sketches, inking, painting to then digitising the illustrations. I’ll try to keep you updated with the process of how the calendar comes together.
