Hello, friends!
It has been such a while since I used the blog on my website, I’ve been using my mailing list a lot more to keep people up to date with what’s happening with Colzo Art – but I thought a little blog post would be fun too!
With the current economic climate, being in the way it is at the moment, I’ve been thinking about how to move forward in business as I know what I make and sell are luxury items. I want to make art and owning a bit of art more accessible to more people and to bring joy into peoples lives. So, what does that mean for Colzo Art?
Back last year, I won a Cricut Joy. I’ve been experimenting with how to make die cut stickers in my home studio, which has been a lot of fun. I’ve also had a printer upgrade which has meant that I’ve been able to start making my prints in house and therefore I’ve been able to pass on the savings that I’ve been making there onto you lovely people too!
This last week, I bought a badge making machine so I’ve been able to start making smaller, hand made items, namely badges! You might have already seen some of them listed on my shop? They are a fun & accessible way to have some joy!
You may have also seen that I had my instagram hacked recently – what a headache! Thankfully, I’ve been working on rebuilding that (link to new page can be found here), and I’ve been posting on TikTok a bit more.
I’ve got some exciting things coming up in the next few months – one being, I’ve got a podcast coming! I’ve recorded all the episodes that I wanted to get made, and I’m in the process of editing them into something coherent. You can subscribe by clicking this link. It will take you to the Spotify page.
In the podcast, along with some friends, I am looking at what it means to be a christian and a creative at the same time. I’ve interviewed an actor, pastors, biblical counsellor, musician, writers. Some are working professionally in their creative field, and others are creative in their hobbies. Regardless of whether they are professional or not, we discuss how we can honour God through creative pursuits. I hope that you might find it interesting!
Next weekend (25th June), I’m going to be at Padiham On Parade, I’ll have a stall there where I’m going to be selling my prints, stickers, badges, and some handmade earrings. You will also be able to make your own badge – I’ll have paper, coloured pens & my badge maker. If you’re in the area around Padiham, I’d highly recommend coming to visit. It’s going to be a good weekend for all the family.
Love, Colzo!
