Hi, friend!
Gosh, it has been such a while since I’ve used the blog feature on here, I might as well re introduce myself! I’m Colzo, a Christian artist based in the north of England. This art business was born out of me teaching myself how to draw and then blogging about it, gradually folks started to ask if they could buy my work and it was a joy to share with the world in some ways!
So, now that you’ve had the cliff notes of where it began, let’s come right up to now. I had previously tried vlogging but quickly found that I really didn’t enjoy making vlogs BUT more recently I remembered that one thing I did enjoy was blogging so here are starting again, saying “hi friend” and seeing what happens!
So, what’s the plan for this blog?
There’s going to be a few main aims for here. A bit like how a vlog is a much more casual video format, here you’re going to find a causal behind the scenes of what’s happening in the studio. I’ll be sharing how I’m preparing for launches or markets, along with some sketchbook spreads.
I’ll be also sharing a bit of the me behind the brand, the things I love whether that’s music, books, or even materials I’m using. I’m going to aim for monthly to begin with (although, that might increase depending on how things go!)
Looking to the future, I’d really like to also invite some of my artist friends to share their own notes from the studio – so be sure to subscribe here or to my mailing list to never miss out!
Shop Highlights
Last year for the EHARTS Sprint Online Market, I did a collab with the wonderful Creations By Keziah where we combined my lettering and her skill at customising and personalising items to create a beautiful collection including a pencil pouch, tote bag, and drink ware. The pencil pouches sold out really quickly but the drink ware and tote are still available. I’ve tagged some of the products below for you to have a look at!
Coming off the back of that, more recently, I took part in the EHARTS Spring Online Market hosted by the lovely Emily Harvey Art and as part of that, I did a collab with the equally lovely Crafted By Colette to make my first ever wooden pins. (See below for pics!) My half of the pins stock sold out, but Colette still has some in her shop. The collab included wooden pins, but also bookmarks, stickers and holographic button badges.
Sketchbook Pages
I’m currently working on putting together a new mini zine, looking at interesting species of frogs. Here’s some of the sketchbook pages that I’ve been working on in preparation. I’ve been using Ohuhu alcohol markers (affiliate link). The aim will be to have 8 marker sketches of really interesting frogs with a bit of information about the species. Excited for you to follow along with this project!

Thank you for reading, and I look forward to sharing with you in the next instalment of Notes From The Studio!
Blessings,

Yay! I do hope those frogs will be available in sticker form too?
Yes that’s the plan, friend! Mini zine and sticker pack!
